Sedbergh FRA Junior Championship 2019

Sedbergh FRA Junior Championship 2019 race

Sunday 26 May

Many thanks to the army of Helm Hill volunteers who marshalled, counted, registered and awarded all the Juniors who turned out and raced at Sedbergh, plus marshalled the carpark and supplied refreshments, collected flags and took down signs afterwards. Well done to all the Juniors who raced - we set some challenging climbs and descents and you all got round them.

RESULTS are on the "Races" page of this website - look under the heading "Results" for SedberghJuniors2019 .

Registration and race HQ will be in the People's Hall, Howgill Lane, Sedbergh, LA10 5DQ.

Registration will be 9.00am - 10.45am.

Refreshments will be available here too throughout the morning (tea, coffee, some cold drinks, cakes).

PARKING will not be possible at the People's Hall, or on the road near the hall. Please do not try to park near the hall. Parking for the race will be free of charge on Lupton field, Back lane - many thanks to Sedbergh school for the use of this. Lupton field will be open from 9AM. Lupton field is a 5 - 10 minute walk away from the People's Hall. Due to the steep ramp down into Lupton field, occasionally drivers decide against taking a low-slung vehicle into it; if you think you will be in this category, public carparks are available on Joss Lane and Loftus Hill road.

First race - 11am start. Subsequent races will then start after the last runner has returned from each race. Races will be in this order;

U9s (minimum age: 6 years on the day), U11s, U13s, U15s, U17s, U19s. Boys and girls of each age group will run in the same race.

Explanation HERE of the FRA age categories.

Please do not recce the routes through the farmer's fields.

£2 entry. Enter on the day.

Juniors of all ages should be prepared to carry kit i.e.

U9s, U11s, U13s - waterproof top, hat, gloves

U15s, U17s, U19s - waterproof top, hat, gloves, waterproof trousers, whistle

The decision about whether to reduce this kit requirement will be made on the day.
