Helm Hill Junior Waiting List – 2013
All our junior coaching groups for Wednesday evening training are currently full. Although we have a waiting list we do not envisage taking on any more juniors until we are able to recruit extra adults confident and capable of leading a group of up to 15 junior runners.
We are happy to train, develop and help qualify any parent or senior runner who would like to help coach juniors on a Wednesday evening.
So, until further notice, I’m afraid we will not be able to take on any more junior runners for Wednesday training. As soon as we have space we will of course be delighted to offer more junior places for training.
However, if any junior wishes to join Helm Hill and represent the club at races, take part in our junior club Championship and be part of teams representing the club that is no problem and they would be most welcome, simply join as a junior member.

We recently had 4 new coaches qualify with their level 1 coach’s ticket, Donna Whitehead, Dave Roelants, Andy Conner and Will Smith. Congratulations to them.
So we are restructuring our coaching system to accommodate new coaches & hopefully take more juniors off the waiting list. From 13th June the structure will be:-
Level 1 – Gavin Thomas & Anna Stevens. Entry level, generally age 6 – 9.
Level 2 – Eric Pye, Sarah Senior, John Bagge & Donna Whitehead. Ages around 9 – 12. This level includes runners involved in both recreational running and competitive racing.
Level 3 – Lorna Askew & Andy Conner. Lorna will move up from L2 with her group. Training will be slighter harder & more focussed but whilst obviously retaining the fun.
Level 4 – Tim Murray. Ages 12 – 15, more typically a racing group where training is harder again. Runners in this group also meet on a Monday night for speed session at a track with me, Duncan Richards
